Theory, Troubleshooting and Repair of Industrial Variable Speed Drives

Desription
Introduction: The course aims to train participants so as to acquire theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills in electronic system circuit tracing, troubleshooting and repair of Variable Speed Drives (VSD) The theory and working of this novel invention will be completely covered in the theory delivery and troubleshooting and repair will be covered in the practical sessions. CONTENT The workshop will cover theory and practical aspects of VSDs. VSDs have become the preferred method of ac motor speed drive and even in automation control when used with plcs and computers. Utilization of VSDs in heavy industrial application save costs in power utilization. ? Review of components that are applied in variable speed drives, e.g. Resistors, inductors, capacitors, comparators, transistors, operational amplifiers, and digital logic devices. ? Transformer-less utility rectification. ? Full-Bridge dc-dc converter ? PWM with bipolar and unipolar voltage switching. ? Pulse-width-modulated inverters ? Pulse-width-modulated switching scheme. ? Full-bridge inverters ? Three Phase inverters ? Identification of major components of the VSD ? Trouble-shooting procedures of the VSD. ? Repair excises of VSDs. ? Faulty component replacement. ? Calibration procedures. Test after Repair Fee: ZMK 9,500.00 Head, Electrical Engineering Department.
