Zambia Women in Engineering Section (ZWES) has been making great strides to bridge the gender gap and placing much effort on encouraging women to go into engineering careers, a move that will greatly benefit the industry and the economy as a whole. ZWES has been making the case that the country needs the essential role of women of courage, ingenuity, vision and achievement to realize humanity's noblest and vital projects of sustainable development through engineering. The women held their 6th conference on 19th April 2024 at Avani Resort in Livingstone, alongside the AGM and it was under the theme - Resilience and Innovation: Women Engineering the Future. The conference which attracted more than 250 women and supported by over 200 men was graced by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Southern Province Ms. Yolanta Mutyambe Malunga.
